Facial hair is often the area women find most frustrating. Tweezers, threading and wax help for a while, but the hair comes back fast, the skin gets red and ingrown hairs can follow. Facial laser hair removal works at the root and thins the hair out step by step.
How facial laser hair removal works
At our studio in Narimanov we use an original Candela Alexandrite laser (755 nm). This wavelength targets the melanin in the hair, so it works best on dark hair and suits light to medium skin. You can read more about the machine on our Candela Alexandrite page.
With every pulse, a Zimmer cold air unit cools the skin. Most clients describe the feeling as a short warm snap, and the cooling keeps it comfortable.

How many sessions you need
After the first 1-2 sessions the hair grows back sparser, finer and slower. The main course is usually 6-8 sessions. Your laser specialist sets the interval for you, and for the face it is usually 4-6 weeks. After each session the treated hair sheds gradually over 7-14 days.
A note on fine and light hair
Alexandrite does not work on white, grey or very light blonde hair. Very fine, pale down on the cheeks may also respond poorly. In that case our laser specialist Fatima Aliyeva will tell you honestly at the first visit whether it is worth treating.
Before your session
- Shave the area 12-24 hours before.
- Avoid tweezers, threading, wax and epilators for about 4 weeks before, because the root needs to be there.
- Avoid a fresh tan or sunbed for about 2 weeks before and after.
- Tell the specialist in advance about pregnancy, breastfeeding, cold sores in the area or photosensitising medication (such as isotretinoin).
After your session
Mild redness for a few hours is normal. Skip the sauna, hot baths and the pool for 24-48 hours. Keep scrubs and acids off the area for a few days, and wear SPF 50 during the day. More tips are in our FAQ.
